As you know, from previous posts, we've had a few encounters with opossums before! Well, this morning upon waking up at 4:30, I go to let Benji out and lo and behold Opossum #3! A big fat giant opossum sitting on our table eating our cat food!!!!
I thought it was absolutely hilarious because I ran to get Mom and she stuck her head out the door and hissed like a cat! Boy, I've never seen a possum move so fast! That thing was gone in seconds! Okay, maybe 1 second! He took off like lightning! Needless to say, we will probably end up just feeding possums for a living now! I don't feel like relocating possums for the rest of my life. No offense but like one person said, "You relocated it, so someone else could shoot it!" Unbelievably true around here! Anyway, to keep him from being tortured by our neighbors, who tend to enjoy shooting wildlife multiple times before killing them, I will keep feeding #3. I will try and get a picture of him up here for you to see!
Once you get used to how they look, they aren't so ugly anymore. They start to kind of get cute and familiar looking. God created them for a reason! Besides, God tells us in His Word to take care of the animals. Opossums are animals and are included in His command for mankind to take care of. So that settles that matter.
