As a horse lover, I enjoy torturing my gelding with girly antics, such as braiding his hair. I always enjoy trying new braids on him and I have finally found my favorite, at least for now!
It took me a while to get the hang of how this particular braid is separated and banded together, but once I got used to it I was quickly making progress. Something Zack was grateful for since he had been tied to a tree for a little over an hour! All in good fun! First I'll post my own picture, and the after that I'll post some variations of the braid I used. Of course one of them is my favorite!

Zack's hair. I think his look says it all! Sorry, he was a little thin last winter! | |

Here is a variation of the braid. Making the bands smaller gives the appearance of a tapestry. My next project on Zack! |

Another variation, bigger bands but the majority of the hair is left free. |

This is my favorite photo of this particular braid. The Spanish do it best! I love the bold contrast of the horses natural coloring, and the matching of the bridle and braiding clips. The clips give it the finishing special touch it needs! Not to mention they add a regal Spanish touch to the whole affair! HAHA, they cheated, he has a fake forelock! Just noticed that! Funny! |

So there you have it! Braids at their best! I think I will invest in one of those braiding combs! It makes everything look a little more even! They're only $1, I'm not sure why I haven't gotten one yet. See ya next time!
